The 2011 F16 Nationals attracted 18 boats in from all over the country into the Severn River Yacht Club in Galesville, MD on September, 8,9,and 10. .
We had a great club, great people, great food, and great place, but someone had forgotten to order great wind and left the hose on. On top of light breeze the first day, it rained almost all day, making for a bit of a mud
bog, but a good time was had by all. Except possibly Karl Brogger at times
who got stuck in a couple of airless pockets as he watched half the fleet
sail by. But in the end, even Karl had Fun!
Over the course of the three days, the race committee struggled to get 3 races in. One in reasonably light air and the other two in practically non
exhistent air.
In conditios that the Viper was not expected to do well when pitted against an all carbon boat, the Vipers dominated taking 1,2,3,4,6 and 7th.
Robbie Daniel and Enrique Rodriguez won the event followed by Taylor Reiss/ Matthew Whitehead in 2nd and Gary and Norman Chu in 3rd.
The F16 class is growing rapidly around the world and has been chosen for the youth development team in the US. It is very exciting to have an outlet
for the youth to get more involved.
Another Happy Viper sailor in the US

Greg, As a new Viper owner (courtesy of Robbie and Jill ), I just raced in my first Nationals at West River Sailing Club. Great Time! 20 boats raced and Vipers swept the fleet. Great stuff for YOUR advertising. Put it on your website with pics if you can get some. Love the boat and still smiling at age 62!
